This coin was struck to promote the World Championschip of Football organised by FIFA (in French Fédération Internationale de Football Association - International Federation of Association Football). In 1982 the World Cup took place in Spain and the trophy was awarded to Italy. Footballers from Bulgaria did not qualify to this event.
