interesting facts:
To commemorate the celebrations of the 1300 years of Bulgaria it was decided to stress on the Bulgarian-Hungarian friendship and brotherhood. Both of the poets whose images are depicted on the reverse of this coin were the most important writers during Romanticism in Bulgaria nd Hungary. Hristo Botev (Христо Ботьов Петков 1848-1876) and Sándor Petöfi (1823-1849) appart from waking patriotism among their nations using the words, were also using the weapons. Their biographies are linked also by another fact. Exactly like romantic characters they were killed in a fight for freedom of their countries.

Hristo Botev, Sándor Petöfi
