interesting facts:
Games of the 22th summer olympics took place in 1980 in Moscow, USSR. As a protest against Soviet invasion on Afghanistan, 65 countries, including USA, boycotted these games. In return 15 countries from the Soviet block boycotted the next summer olympics in 1984 in Los Angeles, USA. The games in Moscow were the first ones to which independent Cyprus sent their athletes. The honour of participation was granted to four judokas, four swimmers and three sailors (in two boats).
