Commemorative coin of 20 francs from 1994 marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which was founded by Pierre de Coubertin.

Pierre de Coubertin (1863-1937) - French baron, historian and educator. The founder of the International Olympic Committee on June 22, 1894 at the University of Sorbonne in Paris. The initiator of the modern Olympic idea. Pierre de Coubertin is also the author of the Olympic flag with five differently coloured rings - symbols of five continents.
