The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EBRD was established in May 1990 and is designed to support financially investments in developing countries of Europe and Central Asia. The bank belongs today to 61 and two international institutions and the members are either financing or using the finances. Croatia was invited on April 15, 1993 and from then on it is widely using the financial opportunities of the EBRD. In 2008 the bank's board accepted Croatian application to organise an annual business meeting in 2010 in Zagreb. It was a great honour for Croatia, because while organising the meeting it could present the country to investors. The meeting took place on May 14-15, 2010 and gathered nearly 2000 important people from the European financial circle.
