interesting facts:
The Palace of Grand Dukes of Lithuania was constructed in XV/XVI century during the reign of Kazimieras I Andrius Jogailaitis (in Polish: Kazimierz IV Andrzej Jagiellonczyk). It was being reconstructed and renovated until the Russian aggression between 1655 and 1661, who left the palace burned down. It has never been functional since then. Only in 2001 the Lithuanian Parliament initiated the reconstruction of the palace.
