The European Basketball Championship 2011 (EuroBasket 2011) was organised by Lithuania. It is the second time that Lithuania hosts the championship of the continent.
In 1939 Lithuanians did not show much hospitality and as hosts won golden medals. In 2011 the European champions became Spanish, who defeated in the final French team 98:85.
