interesting facts:
This coin commemorates 300th anniversary of founding the Royal Mint. Founding of the mint in Kongsberg in 1686 was strongly related to silver mining activities in the neighbourhood. Between 1623 and 1957 ca. 1350 tones of silver was extracted from local ore, out of which much was used as material for coin minting.
