António Feliciano de Castilho (1800-1875) - Portuguese writer. At the age of six he lost his sight. Owing to his brilliant memory and family support he graduated university majoring in Latin literature.

Encyclopedic sources (e.g. Britannica) state 1875 as the year of death of the writer. On the coin however, year 1885 is struck.
