interesting facts:

The Neringa municipality contains touristic villages on the Lithuanian part of the Curonian Spit, which was placed on UNESCO world heritage list in 2000. The beaches and high wandering dunes have been discovered as a holiday spot in the beginning of the 20th century when it became fashionable among the German elite members visiting from nearby Konigsberg. Today, within the borders of Lithuania the Neringa municipality has become one of the most beautiful resorts on the Baltic Sea.
