interesting facts:
Distaff is a traditional wooden tool used for spinning wool, flax or cotton. It had the shape of a flat board placed on a stick and around it the fiber was wrapped. Boards had complex shapes to hold the fibers better, and its surfaces were decorated with traditional patterns. Lithuanian patterns contain characteristic six- or eight-pointed stars.
