interesting facts:
Built around 1362 the Goose Tower is now the only remnant of the castle Vordingborg and best-preserved medieval tower in Denmark. Shortly after its construction King Valdemar IV ordered to put on its top a golden goose as an expression of irony to the cities associated in the Hanseatic League. The king called them "flock of geese" when they sent 77 declaration of war against Denmark.

The coin series "Towers" (Tårnmønter) are dedicated to one of the most famous Danish architects Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971). To commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth a coin was struck with his most famous design - the tower of Aarhus city hall. The series continued until 2007 and it contains ten coins:
