interesting facts:
The ship "Vædderen" ("Aries") launched on March 22, 1990, is one of four Danish patrol frigates of the Thetis type. In 2006, the Royal Danish Navy assigned the ship to researchers, who carried out the largest scientific expedition in the last decades - Galathea III. The expedition was to conduct climate and marine organisms research (hence several marine animals hidden on the coin reverse). The frigate left Copenhagen in August 2006. It visited first the Danish islands in the Atlantic, and then set off on a journey around the world in the easterly direction. Galathea III ended on April 25, 2007, when fregate returned to Copenhagen. On the same day this commemorative coin was issued.
